Makeup Conturing and highlighting

So since Kim K  Posted a picture of her self where her make up artist was contouring her face using makeup . I see more people doing it. Even my self lately .
I have seen videos  where they use a few different thinks and do it a couple different way . Its seems like it a "New" thing but No.
Make up artist have been doing it a long time . I'm going to go over the FYI's on this .

  • Contouring creates a sense of balance, adding definition to your makeup with color.
  • Contouring with makeup is usually applied on the temple area, nose, eyes, and chin areas.
  • You can use a cream or liquid contouring makeup product, however powder or mineral powders give a smooth, satin finish and are easier to blend.
  • Contouring is to Slim, Highlight is to enhance.

This month I will be sharing more information on this subject like
  • Products need
  • Brushes vs sponges
  • powder vs liquid
  • what shape your trying to achieve
  • video on how I contour my face
  • doing make up on someone else.
  • When to do it !
  • Brands I like.
there is a difference between everyday make up and going out makeup. so Ill also show that . I am planing to break this up into YouTube vlogs and blogs . with post Twice a week Sundays and Wednesdays

Life right know .. Fall is here

Well yes, it been a long time, this is my take two on this blog posting.
This summer my hair color went lighter, well about a level 6. It’s strange because I got a lot of complements, well as that I thought!!. I recently went back to dark because honestly I hated the up keep on it so I decided to do Rusk 5CH and 4 NW.  To get this nice dark reddish brown...Very nice!! And I the same people that like my lighter hair this summer told me that they like me with my darker hair. Okay..... Then why did you say you loved my summer hair > Go figure. Also this summer I decited to try to go vegetarian and drinking no beer. It’s going pretty well but the thing is now that winter is coming and my summer veggies are going to turn it to frozen veggies, Ugh. I lost about 15 lbs. doing it. I did not go vegetarian cold turkey; I still ate chicken and fish.  Mushrooms and zucchini are my favorite veggies, because you can season them with anything.  A couple downs sides of this is your intestinal system goes a bit crazy and I feel that my hair is falling out more. I’m going to see a dietician sometime this month, well thinking about it. I’ll make an apt after I’m done with this blog.

Ok now the Beauty Part: Fall I love fall because it easy to get dressed for. I did some shopping this week to get some good staple clothing for my fall wardrobe. I got a dark Levis jean jacket from TJ Maxx for 24.99, two sets of leggings drk.gray and black from Old Navy for $10 each
Then I went over to Vanity and got about 4 tops two long sleeves and two short sleeves for $35 right now they have my favorite short sleeve tops buy one get one free!! I need to go back next weekJ  I also went to the Salvation Army (Yes) and found some scarves in fall colors and only spent 2 bucks.   All I need now is maybe one more jacket, couple of tanks and that it I have 4 pair of boots in my closet, two of then I got the end of last winter on clearance from route 21.

Make up will be another Blog

Have a great fall eveyone !!

ten Commandments of curly hair Article in Allure

So I came across an article in Allure Magazine this week the title is Curls Gone Wild written my Lexi Novak . She gives us the 10 commandments of Curly hair.  I have natural curly hair and I the girl that straighten her hair all the time because I don’t like my curly frizzy hair, for the past year and half I’ve hated my curls so much I been doing a couple Smoothing Treatments the first was Thermafuse amino fusion smoothing treatment, and Bio ionic agave smoothing treatment that I don’t at the salon. I now also wear my hair shorter than before. So as my hair is growing out I am departing on going all natural and bring out my curls or keep on doing the treatment... But then I came across this article so maybe I’ll try this for a while.   This is a breakdown of the 10 Commandments of curly hair.

1 Wash your hair less-or not at all .(her words not mine) The best way to wash curly hair is with 100% sulfate-free shampoo this kind of shampoo is always good for your hair shampoos the have sulfates strips your hair as it cleans in that is why it lather . It also strips your hair color. The article also says to wash your hair with Conditioner witch is called Co-washing   umm something new... Another thing that I think that would work is Dry shampoo. TiGi has an awesome Dry shampoo that I use, since I have dark hair I like this one because it doesn’t get dusty looking in my hair.  Ill post a picture of it below

2 Condition, condition and Condition. This helps keep the curls moisturized. The curlier the hair the longer it for natural oils to travel from the scalp to the ends. That why your hair looks dry at the ends.

3. Style your hair when it’s sopping wet.  Hands off your bath towel.

4 Limit Alcohols. (jeje) Styling Products with high alcohol in them sucks out the moisture in your hair and can cause split ends

5.  Leave it alone. The more you manhandle your curls the more you ruffle the cuticle and it creates Frizz. In the article it says use a microfiber towel to dry your hair and blot.

6. Don’t blow dry without a diffuser.   I did go to sally and this week they have a universal Diffuser for 12 buck and it collapses for easy storage.

7. Throw out your brush.  Wide tooth combs are awesome

8. Always get a dry cut..  Ok as a stylist I can go both ways with is.  I cut a lot of my curly hair clients wet because I am using a razor and if you cut your hair dry with a razor it will Explode your cuticle   no good .

9. Take down the heat.  This is good for ALL hair types

10. Switch to a silk pillowcase.  The article says that cotton soaks up the moisture in your hair causing it to frizz.

Also prevents color fading.  The direction states  for styling thermal protection and frizz control apply small about to damp hair and then style .
